Nākotnes Atbalsta fonds supports "Kilogram of Culture" competition

On 17 February, Latvia's state television will broadcasted a live awards ceremony for the winners of the prestigious "Kilogram of Culture" competition, which is held for several years now with the support of Rietumu Bank charity fund “Nākotnes Atbalsta fonds” (Future Supporting Fund).

The “Kilogram of Culture” competition has been held in Latvia since 2012 and remains one of the most significant events in this field, attracting wide public attention.

Winners are determined in different categories. This year there the ten: Music, Cinema, Theatre, Visual Arts, Literature, Pop Culture, Start, Heritage, Surprise, Event.

Inga Shina, Chairman of the Board of Nākotnes Atbalsta fonds, notes: “We do support this remarkable competition every year, and I am glad to see that every time it brings new offbeat discoveries. Indeed, it is very important to help talented people realize their creative ideas, but no less essential is to make these works of art consign to the society and therefore contribute to intellectual progress. “Kilogram of Culture” is a very good example of how to make this all a reality. I would like to thank the organizers of the competition and wish success to the nominees!”

“Kilogram of Culture” is a public media competition in the field of culture. The award is presented by Latvian Television, Radio and the LSM.lv portal. The nominees are chosen by an authoritative jury and the winners are determined by a free vote, which takes place in three stages: spring, autumn and winter.

The award ceremony will be translated on LTV1, REplay.lv, LSM.lv, and radio LR1 and LR3 "Klasika".
