«eCom21» conference started in Riga

The «eCom21» conference is being held in Riga for the fourth time and has become a traditional arena for meetings between e-commerce industry professionals and representatives of other sectors, who develop this prospective area.

This forum has brought together 600 participants from the Baltic countries, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries, Europe, the United States and other regions of the world – more than 40 countries, in total.

The key topic of the forum is: Processing. Payment Acceptance. Evolution of E-Commerce. The participants will discuss the latest trends of the online payment service, including prospects of new formation – non-bank online institutions which can significantly change this business and challenge traditional banks.

Key figures of the modern online business will speak at the forum: Jon Matonis, the Founding Director of the Bitcoin Foundation, Simon Saneback, the leading Scandinavian expert on the e-Commerce industry, Valdimir Malugin, Chairman of the Board of PayPal in Russia, and also representatives of Alfa-Bank, Yandex.Money, PayOnline, QIWI Group, WebMoney Europe, 2CheckOut, NetElement and other Russian and western market leaders.

Today, the forum will present sessions devoted to matters of Internet trade, processing, risk management, use of electronic wallets and the future of online payments. On Friday, there will be sessions on the topic of the development of alternative banking, the legal framework of online finance, landmarks and prospects of the development of electronic payments. A vast informal evening programme has been planned to discuss speeches and to establish perspective business contacts, for which the best places in the Latvian capital were chosen according to the tradition.
