The organiser of the meeting from the Latvian side, alongside Riga City Council, is the biggest private bank in Latvia – Rietumu.
It is not the first time that such an event has been organised in Kazakhstan – last year a practical seminar named “Kazakhstan-Latvia Cooperation: New Opportunities for Business in Europe” was held in Almaty. As noted by participants of the last meeting, such events allow participants to not only get acquainted with opportunities for cooperation and advantages of the markets of both countries, but to also establish useful business contacts – both on a practical business level and with representatives of state institutions.
This year, aside from the possibilities of development and support of international entrepreneurial activities for Kazakh companies in Latvia, investment opportunities and the development of free economic zones will be the focus of attention. The event will be organised predominantly as B2B meetings of Latvian and Kazakhstan companies, with the participation of spokespersons from the capital city authorities.
The Ambassador of Latvia in Kazakhstan Mr. Juris Maklakovs is also scheduled to hold a speech during the event.
The agenda of the seminar also includes a speech of the Member of the Board, Senior Vice-President of Rietumu Bank Ilya Suharenko on issues of Latvian legislation and European guidelines which are topical for both parties, as well as a survey of financial services, attracting investments and financing of trade operations.
From the Latvian side, the participants will be officials of the Riga and Jurmala municipalities, the Freeport of Riga, the AirBaltic airline, representatives of the real estate industry and other industries, as well as legal advisers.
Kazakhstan will be represented by municipalities of the biggest cities, ministries, tax and customs organisations, the National Chamber of Commerce, management companies, investors and banks. In total, over 300 delegates are expected to participate in the event.
