RAM experts confirm - gold a top asset in February

4 March 2016, 12:00
Experts from the Rietumu group have announced the Rietumu Asset Management investment funds profitability review for February. It includes an analysis of key economic indicators, monetary policy, global stock markets, and bonds and currency markets.

“February turned out to be an eventful month, providing long-term investors with interesting opportunities and at the same time giving an adrenaline rush to those investors who prefer short-term investments. The investment climate favors assets “protected” from geopolitical risks and it is no wonder that gold became a top asset this month. In general, February disproved the most pessimistic views of the investors and gave grounds for future growth,” note the experts.

The overall economic scene indicates an improvement of the situation in the euro region. “The consumer sector is one of the driving forces behind the economic growth of the European Union which continues to experience low inflation. In many EU countries this month, the rate dropped below zero. This trend signals a probable increase in monetary incentives and quantitative easing of the ECB after its March meeting,” according to the managers of RAM investment funds.

It is also noted in the review that monetary policy of central banks is still an important factor and a key influencer on the dynamics of international markets.
