Riga Will Host the Second E-commerce Forum eCom21

9 September 2013, 12:00

The forum will retain its applied format and one of the core subjects will be topical trends in the theory and practice of online games. The patron of the conference will again be Rietumu Bank.

The previous eCom21 conference found considerable resonance due to its original format and a good selection of subjects. Many of its participants have applied for the current eCom21 with larger teams.

As the First Vice-president of Rietumu Bank Ruslan Stecyuk noted, “The experience of the first forum has shown that we hit the spot by making the programme “synthetic”. By taking into account the recommendations of our guests, this year, even more narrow-profile subjects will be highlighted. During the first part of the conference more general issues will be considered, and then, during the seminars and workshops, a division of the participants to different streams will take place and specialised issues will be discussed in more focused groups.”

Starting with this year, every eCom21 will also select a specific thematic industry. This time such a subject will be one of the most topical and relevant e-commerce trends related to the theory and practice of online games – gaming, gambling, forex.

Apart from this, topical issues of the legislative regulation and taxation of e-commerce, advantages of the EU tax regime and the possibilities of working via a merchant account in a European bank will continue to be discussed. Besides, such subjects will be touched upon as new solutions in the IT field, topical issues of fraud prevention; development tendencies of e-wallets, usage of e-money; legal aspects and nuances of the agreement practice and many other issues.

One of the conference’s partners this year will be the global payment solution provider Ecommpay. For the second year in succession another partner of the forum will be the leader of the instant payment market – QIWI.

“The eCom21 conference has all the prerequisites for becoming one of the most important international events in e-commerce. Its distinguishing feature is a large amount of practical sessions – and this is the most important and interesting. This year we will learn a lot of new things from the practice of both new participants and those who took part in eCom21 last year. I am sure that owing to eCom21 its participants will not only exchange information about their achievements and successful business cases, but will also establish new business ties which will provide the market with a resource for growth,” said Andrey Romanenko, Chairman of the Board of QIWI Group.

As one of the tasks of eCom21 is the provision of maximally favourable opportunities for direct communication and establishing business contacts, this year separate workrooms will be available at the disposal of the participants, where everyone will be able to talk about themselves and find new partners.

eCom21-2013 is expected to be visited by more than 350 persons: e-commerce providers and organisers, marketing experts, consultants, operators, security professionals, software developers, representatives of international payment systems, specialists of companies operating in different segments of e-commerce, as well as experts in international law and taxation. The geography of the participants will again be wide: the CIS countries, Europe, North America, Central Asia – over 15 countries in total.
