Laureates of the “Inessa Galante Talents” contest, sponsored by Rietumu, performed at the awards ceremony for the campaign “Our Search for the Best Nurse” in Riga Castle, the residence of the President of Latvia.

In late January, a solemn reception was held in Riga Castle in honour of the best nurses, with the participation of the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, and the patroness of the action, his spouse Andra Levite. This campaign, which has already become a tradition, during which hospital patients, their relatives and friends choose the best nurses, is organised by the Rietumu Bank Charity Fund. Winners receive honorary diplomas and cash prizes from the Rietumu Fund.

This time, laureates of the “Inessa Galante Talents” contest of the past years performed at the awarding ceremony of the winners of the nursing campaign – Arnita Lipska (saxophone), Artur Zhurbin (piano) and Sonia Misina (marimba).

According to the Chairman of the Council of the Rietumu Banka Charity Fund Arkady Suharenko, “The Rietumu Charity Fund has been supporting the Galante talent contest for many years, from its very first steps. With great attention and sincere interest, we are following how the Galante talent contest is developing, and how its popularity and standing are growing. Laureates of previous years perform today at prestigious venues and continue their education with the best teachers. We wish them great success and a bright professional career!

We are very pleased that the contest helps talented young people to display and prove themselves and develop their capabilities. It is important for us that the contest provides this chance to a wide range of young musicians from different families, with different incomes, regardless of where they live and study: in Riga, its environs or very far from the capital. At the Galante talent contest, all participants have equal and at the same time very broad opportunities. This is important for them and for all young people of the country. It helps them to be aware of their strengths and believe in the best opportunities!”

This year, the “Inessa Galante Talents” contest will be held in two stages: in the first round, the jury will evaluate the video applications of the participants - this format will determine which artists pass to the finals and compete for the contest awards. Finalists will be announced on 25 March. Starting from 1 April, public voting will be launched on the official website of the project, which will determine the winner in the Spectator’s Choice nomination. The second, final stage of the contest and the award ceremony will be held in May.
