The winners of the award were announced at the Awards Ceremony, which was held at the Mossovet Theatre in Moscow at the end of last week.
The authoritative jury of SPEAR’S Russia Wealth Management Awards took a decision on awarding Alexander Gafin in the nomination "Legend of the Industry of Private Banking and Wealth Management”.
As Alexander Gafin said, "I am proud and happy to be receiving this award. I remember how we started the banking business in the 1990s, when there were no modern views on PR and marketing. We were young when starting at that crazily interesting time. Working then at Alfa Bank, I was laying the foundations of its marketing, advertising and image. Thus, I was very pleased when representatives of this bank went on stage to get their well deserved award.
Now I work at the leading private bank in the Baltics – Rietumu, and am very happy due to the fact that I had worked at the largest bank in Russia, and now I work at the best bank in the Baltics, which, by the way, has also received Spear’s honorary award.
The work abroad has become a new experience for me, and I still find it very interesting. Now we are launching two new international projects in Latvia, in the field of culture, and I have a direct relation to this; so life goes on, and there is still a lot of new and interesting things!"
Alexander Gafin is one of the most well known specialists in public relations and marketing in Russia. Starting from 2009, he has been Member of the Council of one of the biggest banks in the Baltic States - Latvian Rietumu Bank. Earlier he had served as a member of the Board of the Russian Alfa Bank.
He is known as an organiser of major charitable and cultural events, as well as with his public work.
At different periods Gafin was one of the directors of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) of Russia, the Board of Trustees of the Bolshoi Theatre and other organisations. He is a fellow of the American Pushkin Academy of Arts, a member of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, etc. In 2014 he was appointed Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow.
SPEAR'S Russia Wealth Management Awards is the first annual award in Russia for the best representatives of the private banking industry, wealth management and related industries. This award is granted by analogy with the famous British SPEAR’S Wealth Management Awards, which is organised by SPEAR'S UK magazine each year in London.
Within the framework of this competition, the professional jury, chaired by Arman Jilavian, editor of SPEAR’S Russia, selected the best representatives from the private banking industry, wealth management and related industries. The course of voting for the industry professionals and the work of the jury was followed by the independent consultant of the award - PricewaterhouseCoopers.
